hey guys i hope u all doing fine. i have been visiting this site for quite sometime and found some very useful info here.

Anyways, i would like to post a question here. i am a US green card holder and i wish to immigrate to Canada. However i have a complex immigration situation in Canada. i have been to Canada and filed refugee claim which was denied, and i left the country with out informing relevant Canadian immigration officials while my appeal was still in process in federal court (Canada). After i left my appeal was denied and a deportation was issued in my absence. i have now become US permanent resident (US citizen Spouse based sponsorship) and wish to migrate to Canada, can i apply for Canadian immigration based on point system? Would i need to file "The authorization to return to Canada”? If yes wats the procedure? And would that add up an additional time to the entire immigration process? And how long does the immigration based on point system take if one applies from within US?
Another thing, can I include my mom on my immigration application, She has the same immigration history as mine and is totally dependent on me, how ever she is currently in India also obviously not a US PR

You probably will have to file authorization to return to Canada. Ask the embassy. Applying under the points system from the US used to take 19 months but with the new rules, it's supposed to be faster but you have to be of one of 38 occupations or have a job offer. You can not include your mother on your PR application but you can sponsor her after you become PR and move to Canada.

Thank you Leon for the reply. Also will appreaciate if you know (can tell me ) whether i need to file authorization to return in advance or alogn with my application. if i want to visit canada before actually applying for immigraiton, do i need that authorization as well?

If you want to visit, I am pretty sure you will need it. Before or along with immigration application probably does not matter but ask the embassy.
