Hi,

I'm completing my 4 years work permit by April'2014 and I had already applied PR but I may not be getting it by then. So please let me know if any of you aware of this situation and any option available for me to extend my work permit with same employer (or) any option to extend my work permit with PR reference number i.e AOR number.

Thanks in advance.

The 4 year maximum came into effect 30/Apr/2011, work prior to that date is not counted. So you can (if qualified) receive a work permit permit valid to 29/APr/2015 So you are fine. If you have received your AOR and when there is less than 4 months left on your work permit, you can apply for a "bridging work permit" which would be valid to 29/Apr/2015 maximum. No PR by then, you would have either leave, or apply to remain as a visitor.
