Alternatives to marriage certificate for Parents visitor visa?

In the visitor visa final document checklist for my parents common application, marriage certificate is required document, but as the marriages took place in 80's so they don't have it. What are the alternatives are there with regard to this mandatory document. Please advise!

The registry did not issue certificates in the 80s. Does that mean they can get it now from the registry?

Thanks for your message. No they can't apply as it is very tedious process now. I am looking for alternate documents that we can provide instead of marriage certificate for parents TRV.
