Hi everyone,

I am currently on work permit and have recently submitted my application for permanent residency. Seeing my permit is going to expire soon, my question is that if I still need to extend my permit while my PR application is being processed? CIC website shows foreign workers can continue working as per their permit conditions after its expiration as long as they have applied to get it extended. So I wonder whether if this also holds for expired-work-permit-with-PR-application-in-processing, so to save $150 work permit extension fee?

Thanks very much in advance...

1. You have to apply and pay for the work permit and include the approved LMO.

Oh ok. Thanks for your response PMM. I will apply soon then(I'm holding an open work permit so no need for an LMO).

What was the basis of the open work permit? If it was PGWP, then you require an LMO to extend. Be sure that you don't require an LMO.
