Hello everyone...
As you may know, the Ontario government has relaxed their rules for PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) for persons with Master's and PhD's very recently (June 14). Since I did a Master's degree in Ontario, I'm eligible to apply. The Nomination process takes 3 months in Ontario, and then Buffalo processes your case in an expedited manner.

My case:
I have sent in my Federal Skilled Worker(FSW) application to Sydney in the last week of April. I am expecting a reply from them in 2-3 weeks from now.
At the same time, just today, I heard of the changes to the Ontario PNP program. Now I obviously want to opt for PNP because of the shorter time frame.

My question:
- Can I apply for PNP now, given that I've already applied to Sydney for FSW?
- Can both the processes go in parallel?

Thanks in Advance!

and oh... you also get a work permit as soon as you get your PNP approved.

Be their guest... Rest assured, Both can run simultaneously.
Qorax

but wouldn't there be like 2 file numbers??

Hi Sreaheem86,

You can file both application. I too did the same as my old FSW which I had applied in 2005 was still in progress. But now my PNP case got approved.

FROM OP1 Manual

Once a case has passed the initial evaluation stage, the processing fees cannot be refunded. If a
provincial nominee certificate is submitted and the applicant wants to be considered in the
provincial nominee class, the applicant has a first option to withdraw his federal application and
submit a new application in the provincial nominee class; processing fees for the federal
application are not refunded, and new processing fees are required for the application in the
provincial nominee class. The second option is to allow processing of the federal application to
continue and to submit a new application in the provincial nominee class, along with the new fees.
The applicant does not necessarily have to withdraw the initial application, because the
Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) does not prohibit multiple applications. Prior to
finalizing either application, the visa office will advise the applicant that the second application has
to be withdrawn for the visa to be issued; visas must not be issued for one file while the second
remains open and in process.

@narinderdl...
You'll need to have a job offer in Ontario, from an employer which is pre-screened by Ontario Immigration.
