Algonquin College waitlist

I got Letter of acceptance from Algonquin college for September intake 2023. I requested them for deferment for Jan 2024 the college is saying that my status for deferment is on waitlist. How long does a college take to notify me weather my application had made through waitlist or not?

It may be a few weeks before class depending on how many students decide not to attend the Jan program and then how many are on the waitlist.
