Hi Everyone,
I wanted to see if others have done something similar.
I submitted my Alberta Worker EOI and used a lower WES ECA, even though I also have an IQAS ECA for the same credential. I chose WES because it assessed my foreign education as a 2-year diploma, which allowed me to claim Alberta education points (I completed a diploma in Alberta and hold a PGWP).
Has anyone else used this approach and received a nomination? Did AAIP accept your LOE and ECA choice without issue? Would love to hear your experiences or advice!
Any insights, experiences, or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

- IQAS assessed it as a Bachelor’s degree
- WES assessed it as a 2-year diploma
- I also completed a diploma at an Alberta institution and hold a PGWP.
- Based on the AAIP points grid, using WES allows me to claim:
- 4 points for diploma
- 10 points for Alberta education
