hi, dear fellas.

I'm starting a search in my possibilities to imigrate to Canada. I don't know much about it will be possible to me. So, I ask you if you, at any time, have heard someone with a profession like me: I have been worked like air traffic controller in Brazil for the last 11 years. I have several diplomas about this profession, but, I don't have universitary diploma. Would be possible to me to try some kind of imigration program? I think that all this 11 years of experience would interest to some employer. Can it be?

Only if you get job offer.

LOL, Dear Shibuya: Frederico is the fellow who gets our flights safely UP and DOWN. I am not sure if he wants to change careers or not?
The guidance to get a job offer is your best option, apart from coming as a student and then applying under Canadian Experience after you have worked in Canada. Have you looked into the qualifications required for ATC in Canada, especially being a citizen or landed immigrant? I am not sure if you can even enrol in a course in Canada until you have PR. I just did a google and came up with the following. There is lots more online. Good Luck!

medical exam and security clearance
successful candidates are assigned to IFR (instrument flight rules) controller, VFR (visual flight rules) controller OR flight service specialist training pools.
Successful applicants receive initial classroom/simulator training at a NAV CANADA regional training unit for four to twelve months depending on the program. Tuition costs $3,500 for the IFR controller program and $2,500 for the VFR controller program. Then trainees move to on-the-job (paid) training at a flight service station or flight information centre for up to six months.

Employment and Advancement section revised JANUARY 2009
Air traffic controllers are employed by NAV CANADA. After their classroom and on-the-job training, they may be assigned to any air traffic control centre or tower in Canada. IFR controllers work in area control centres located in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Moncton and Gander. VFR controllers work in contol towers located at 41 airports in Canada.

I know a Canadian guy who tried to get into that profession and he said it was very hard. First you have to be accepted to try out and after that, you have to go through a difficult program where they weed out one after another until there is almost nobody left. He did not make it through but he got pretty far.

Maybe you will do better because it is already your profession but that depends on getting into the program also in the first place.
