Air Ticket compulsory for appling general work visa

hi i m from chennai(india). i have one doubt. my agent says general work visa will be apply for me. so he says need Air Ticket compulsory for supporting document for general work visa.is it true. my agent say Visa type is : GW 1.

No - an air ticket is certainly not compulsory. No one buys an air ticket until they know if their visa has been approved or not. So what your agent is telling you is a lie. Are you sure your agent is a real agent and not someone who is running a scam? It sounds like he is trying to make money off of you by telling you to buy something you don't need. Are you sure you really have a job in Canada? There are many scam agents out there who lie about this to get money from people. If the agent is asking you to pay money in exchange for the job in Canada, it's probably a scam and there is no job in Canada.

There is no such thing as a general work visa. Did you get offered a job in Canada?
