Hi everyone,

I finished my PhD in Alberta and now working in Ontario on my post-graduate work permit. I have recently created an express entry profile under the Canadian experience class and in the express entry profile I have selected Alberta and Ontario as my provinces of interest. Based on my studies in Alberta and my eligibility for the AINP, I was thinking whether I also need to apply for the provincial nomination separately or will I be contacted through my federal express entry profile?

Please let me know and thanks for your input.

The provinces will send an NOI if they are interested in nominating you. They can do this by going through the details in your profile. Once you get an NOI, you will have to apply to that province. Keep in mind that an NOI does not guarantee a nomination. Paper-based PNPs are entirely different and you can look them up on the provinces' websites.
