Age points at the time of application !!

Just want to know how CIC deals with the age points, like at the time when i applied (app received by CIO), i was getting 10 points and now as one year has passed and i have crossed that bar of 10 points by falling into 8 points limit !! Shall i still be getting 10 points !! Secondly does it adversely effect one's application, once VO sees the guy is aging and better to drop him!! Pls suggest

I wonder if you ever got an answer to this question?
I have a similar problem - if the new program opens on May 1st and I go to VO myself and submit my application, how many points will I get for my age if my birthday is on May 20th? 7 points for age 40 or 6 for 41 which I'll turn on May 20th 2014?

Your age is "locked in" as of the date the application is received by CIC.
