Hello All,
I wish to apply for my parents PR in 2014. I have two children aged 19 and 9 years. I wish to find out will my 19 year old child be included in calculating size of family? With effect from Jan 2, 2014, the definition of dependent child is changing too..from 22 years to 18 years. So,if I need to calculate my LICO for 2014 will this change in dependent's age be applicable here too?
Your timely reply/input will be much appreciated.

I think the 19 year old may need to be included if you sponsored him/her to canada and the 10 year undertaking has not yet expired.

Below from CIC:

you must prove that you have an annual income that is at least equal to the minimum necessary income to support the group of persons consisting of

yourself and your family members, whether they are living with you or not;
the person you are sponsoring and his or her family members;
every other person you have sponsored in the past and their family members, where an undertaking is still in effect or is not yet in effect;
every other person for whom you have co-signed an undertaking that is still in effect or is not yet in effect; and
every person not included above for whom your spouse or common-law partner has given or co-signed an undertaking that is still in effect or is not yet in effect, if your spouse or common-law partner is co-signing your current sponsorship undertaking.

We are Canadian Citizens.. Husband, wife and two children aged 9 and 19.. So I didn't sponser my kids , rather we came here as a family on points basis. So , my question was whether the 19 year old child be excluded when I calculate size of family for the purpose of LICO for 2014 when I apply for my parents sponsorship.

If he lives with you, go to school and single, he is your dependent. Yes you have to count him in. If he is working fulltime or married and not financially depend on you, then you can exclude him
