Hi ,

I got canadian PR in 2009 but could not meet residency obligation. I wanted to go for
studies in canada in jan 2015 so I applied for Travel doc in order to have a PR status
assessment. I sent a cover letter explaining that intend to apply for student visa for
jan 2015 session.

I got a reply after 10 days from them, it said that 'in order to process my application
for temporary resident visa, they need me to sign 'waiver of appeal rights' and 'consent
to determination of failure to comply with residency obligation' .. I immediately signed and
sent these back to the embassy. My question is :-

1. Anybody knows what exactly they do after u send them waiver of appeal rights etc. do they
issue u a letter stating that ur pr is revoked?
2. I had sent my passports along with PR travel doc application, my passports are still
with the embassy. should they have returned it ?
3. Anybody knows how much time it takes after signing waiver of appeal rights letter for
them to formally issue a pr revoked letter etc. ?

They will likely wait the full 60 days in case you decide to change your mind and wish to appeal. I am curious why you wouldn't attempt to try and gain entry into Canada via a land border and pay resident tuition fees rather than out of country tuition fees.

Anyway, it will likely take them the full 60 days. I don't know if they send you an actual letter or they will just issue you a student visa, of course, this presupposes you are eligible for a student visa.
