hi,
I wonder if I have to inform CIC or immigration about changes after I got the PR card! (Common Law Application)
like:
new address
death
or split up with Common Law partner
or what else?

or that's it after I got the PR card I am free :)
I know I have to be in Canada 2 years of 5 years to keep the PR card!
and what is after 5 years? I still be a permanent residence with the PR card?
or is there a upgrade :)))) ?
I guess Canadian Citizenship!

thanks!
Emma
:o 8) ;) :)

No.

When it's time to renew your card (in 5 years), you will provide a new address if you have moved.

Regarding "or split up with Common Law partner"...if you have Conditional PR, the right thing to do would be to inform CIC, but I'm sure that most people don't.

Just to clarify, meeting the Residency Obligation (RO) has nothing to do with `keeping the card'. You will be a PR, even when your card expires...and even if you have NOT met the RO. If you don't meet the RO, you would still be allowed to enter Canada, but may be reported for non-compliance...leading to your PR being revoked.
