I have a question???

Sometime back I was caught driving an unregistered vehicle in australia and case went to court........i pleaded guilty and received $300 fine.

I have now applied for an AFP Fingerprint police clearance and was wondering that will this fine show up as traffic offence or criminal offence(I do not have any offence registered under my name) and also will this affect my PR file??

Please advise!!!!!!

Hi, as you had already paid the fine and cleared the case, i think it wont effect your application.

All the best.

Cheers..

It might not for AFP police clearance however for some Australian states you have to also provide a traffic/driving history report...so it will probably show up here.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/australia.asp

But as SATDXB stated, hopefully, as you had already paid the fine and cleared the case, it won't go against you...

EDIT: Just noticed you are from Canberra so you shouldn't need a traffice history report...

Good luck with your application

hey guys

I just have quick question. I have to apply for a traffic history report in Australia. I lived in melbourne, Victoria so i need to produce a traffic history report from Vic roads. I had lost my license for 1 month due to speeding (27Kms above the speed limit). I was an idiot. Just wanted to know if that if that would come as an criminal record in my file or not. I will be applying for PR and wanted to know if this would come as black mark on my file and would not be able to get the PR. Please advise.

Cheers

Hi to everyone and good luck,
Hope my story helps someone

I am a US citizen with a Canadian wife. We applied on May 8 2012 and are still waiting to get the PPR. Just a bit of background on my case. I was in Queensland Australia studying for a year in 1998-99. One month before coming back to the States I borrowed an aussie friends car to go around the corner to the store. Of course I got stopped (Murphys Law) had no licence no seatbelt and speeding over 15 km/hr. I never received a ticket and like an idiot I didnt resolve it before I left Ozland. This showed up on my Queensland traffic history report. Since it did CIC LA asked me to resubmit all of my clearances from the states (3 different states lived in longer than months ) and an australian federal police fingerprinting check in addition to the standard name check. LA received them Feb 1. I asked a Canadian immigration attorney whether this could be construed as criminal history by Canadian law and he said it did not. The only way it would be criminal is if I had my license suspended and was caught again by the police. Although I am sure anything complicated in ones background causes more delay. So Cruz, I think you should be OK if you paid the fine and didnt get in trouble again with that charge.
