My Chinese husband is a past member of the Chinese Youths Communist League - apparently it is mandatory for youths between the ages of 14-28 (or thereabouts). Since he will need to indicate this on the application under organisation membership, will this pose a problem for him (i.e. jepodise his chance of getting a visa) since the organisation has a communisitic connotation?

I am not sure whether it is a problem or not but, when filling the "SCHEDULE 1 BACKGROUND / DECLARATION FORM" he will need to mention it, I guess.

The CIC will decide whether or not it is a problem. So, just fill it in and hope for the best!!

IT depends , sometime western countries see , Communism with a different slack - they might investigate more.

I dont know if this will cause a problem but scruitny will be more.

If he was a low level member, can this not be mentioned at all.

Thanks,
