I like to issue statements from my family members and friends to support my wife sponsorship application. I understand that these are required for common law relationships and not necessary for the spousal relationships. Can I issue them in form of affidavits or notarized declaration or just statements?

Since it's not a requirement for spousal sponsorships, you don't have to have them notarized or anything like that...just a simple letter stating *whatever you deem fit*, signed, dated, contact info added, and you're good to go.
