Hello all,
I'm an international student who has graduated high school here (got the Ontario Secondary School Diploma) and is on my second year in York University double majoring in English and Professional Writing. Recently I have read this article http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/small-business/sb-managing/human-resources/new-rules-make-it-nearly-impossible-for-employers-to-keep-foreign-graduates-on-staff/article27681309/?click=sf_globefb by Globe and Mail saying how hard it is for international students to get PR now with the new rules. Although I didn't completely understand the article, I regard it as a reliable source and I'm very worried about my future, as I desperately want to stay in Canada after graduating with a BA. I am not sure what I will do yet, but it will be something like professional writer, editor, teacher or anything along the line (these are all in NOC 0, A and B).
So my question is, what would be the best way(s) for me to apply for PR? In Ontario, you can be nominated directly after getting a Master's; should I go with that? It sounds too easy...what is the catch?
I'm very very worried about my future after reading that Globe and Mail. Anyone that can shed some light would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU.
