Hello everyone!

I meet the requirements for skilled wokers immigration (NOC 2132 - mechanical engineering) and about to send all the documents.

However, recently I was offered a job in a different field (IT). I'd like to accept the offer and quit my current job.

So, my question is: Am I allowed to change the field of working and still apply for skilled wokers immigration or it would be better if I stay at my current position?

Thank you in advance!

If you have a minimum of 1 Year in Full-time or equivalent in Part-time in NOC 2132, in the past 10 years, then you are eligible to choose NOC 2132 as your primary NOC and apply for FSW 2014. This is irrespective of what Job you choose to continue with in the future or are continuing with at present.

No issues.

I am not agree, i feel you should continue with old job, otherwise you should have to submit your current job letter to cic and this will give negative impact on your application.

May be they can go in deep and check your application.

I would suggest to continue the old one.

There is no negative impact whatsoever.

The OP may not even be required to submit the experience letter (although supporting documents other than reference letters can be submitted in lieu of proof) if she/he does not need to claim points for the new job.

Absolultely not true. I've applied for 1113 but during the last 2,5 I've be working in 1114.
Just send the documents and take the job.
