Advisable medium to send PRC from Toronto to NYC

I was wondering if Canada Post or UPS (or something else entirely?) is more advisable in order to have my friend (whose address I submitted at the Toronto airport for receipt of the PRC) send the package to me in the US.
So, what's the verdict?

Any major courier will signature confirmation and proper tracking will work. FedEx, UPS, DHL, whatever. NYC is practically next door.

What about Canada Post?
The CanPR app claims (in Post-landing -> Getting your PR card) that 1. Forwarding like this is not advisable 2. Using Canada Post for forwarding is even more not advisable.
Anyone have any experience with this?
