Greetings, everyone. I need some advice.

I will be moving back to Canada with my family in June of this year. Our two kids are already Canadian citizens. My wife is not, and thus, this is my question: would it be better to initiate the paperwork while we are still abroad? If so, what type of visa would she use to enter (and remain in Canada)?
If we initiate the paperwork when we return, again, which type of visa should she use to enter (and remain) in Canada until her paperwork is completed?

Typically, it can be difficult for sponsored spouses to get a TRV to come to Canada. This is due to the nature of the TRV (visitor visa) and the fact that most spouses being sponsored have no intention to leave Canada after entry. It isn’t impossible, but it takes a well prepared application with significant supporting evidence to get a TRV for a spouse.
Outland sponsorship would only be possible if you are a Canadian citizen from outside of Canada. If you are a PR, you would need to be in Canada before you could start the application. Depending on the circumstances, you may need to prepare to be separated from your wife while the application is processed.
