Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice please, I have requested a transfer from uk to Canada through my current employer " Costco " whilst awaiting approval what do I need to do at my end? I have worked for the company for 18yrs and have been assured that I will have no problem getting relocated. I just have no idea what I need to be doing meantime........ I will also be taking my 15yr old son, my partner is a Canadian citizen and has already gone back home to live at his parents whilst looking for a place to live....... Any advice would be appreciated thank you.
Ally

I assume you don't have PR status in Canada yet?

If you don't have PR status yet, then in order to qualify for an intra-company transfer, you either need to have specialized skills that aren't readily available in Canada or a senior management role within the company. If you fulfill that criteria then you should be fine.

If not, then your Canadian citizen partner should sponsor your for PR (assuming you are either married or have been living together for at least one full year).

Thnx Scylla,
No I don't have PR status yet, it is a skilled job I would be going to, my partner and I have been together 10 yrs he has dual citizenship, although we have always visited Canada always lived here, do I need to have PR for my son separate? Sorry i just have started trying to sort this and am a bit lost in all the websites....... So if I'm accepted through work is there anything else I need to apply for?

Many thnx
