Hello folk,

My wife and my three kids(less than seven years old all) got their permanent residence cards last march. I am planning to send my them to live in Canada, Toronto, next year to stay their for three years.

I am having a question, What areas of Toronto is classified as family friendly regions?

My wife is not going to work, I am going to support them entirely. I want a safe place, served by a close school or a school bus. The area must be served by a store, health clinic... and preferably in an Islamic or Arab community just to make the initial transition easier for them.

I am looking for suggestions from those who lived there before.

Thanks in advance :).

There are bad pockets in Toronto and Mississauga. I suggest you stay near Dundas and Hwy 10 (in Mississauga) OR Don Mills and Eglinton area where there's a big Pakistani community. Try to stay in a high rise condo building which will make you feel safer. Stay away from Jane/Finch, Keele/Finch, Some pockets of Downtown Toronto area.

Good luck

Thank you for your valuable advice steaky :). How safe is Brampton as you know?
Brampton is a cheaper area housing wise, expensive for Auto Insurance. It is far from Toronto if you are bus-sing. Relatively safer than most parts of GTA, but have heard of odd robberies. These robbers are Gold Hunters, since most know people of South-Asian roots store jewellery at home. I live in Brampton too.

Hi bsrk68,

Since you live in Brampton, do you recommend any specific renting agency? Thanks.
