Hey all, I've just spent a considerable amount of time reading the forums here- I must have found them years ago and forgotten about them because my username is now "out of date" I am home! Not just going home :) I am hopeful someone could lend me some of their expertise.

Here is my situation:

I am Canadian by birth- I was a permanent resident of the USA for nearly 20 years (married to an American), in December I moved home to Canada with my 3 Canadian kids (born in the USA, they have their Canadian citizenship certificates, SIN and health cards). Now it is time to get my American husband in Canada with us. I have been exploring inland and outland PR options, student visa, visitor visa, etc. Ultimate goal would be to have him here as PR-but how we do that is not REALLY important. If he cant work due to a student visa that is okay (I mean, okay-ish, but it is what it is, right?) What method do YOU advise? What is quickest for us to be together in Canada as a family? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Student visa will be the longest and most expensive path to PR. Either sponsor him inland (requires him to be in Canada) or outland (he can be anywhere). My recommendation would be outland since it's generally fast (6 months) for Americans. Recommend you post to the Family Sponsorship seciton of the forum if you have further questions.
