Hi all,

Myself Kumar, currently working as Business Development Manager in a e-commerce firm in India. I handle a team of 10 members. I have completed my MBA in Marketing & HR and my UG in B.Tech IT. My total work experience is 2 years.

I wish to switch my career path as well as migrate to Canada. So, I have planned to pursue Post Graduate Diploma Certificate in Canada. I have chosen Social Media Analyst as an option and wish to pursue Digital Engagement in Marketing from Centennial college.

My IELTS score is 7.5

I want to have few clarifications
1) Is it a good move ? career wise as well as course wise.
2) What are the part time jobs which will be available for my work experience ?How do I obtain one ?
3) Social Media Analyst as a new career path is correct ? If not, suggest me some.
4) Job prospects for Social Media Analyst
5) Cost of living in Canada as a student.

I am more of an administrator than a coder, so suggest me some suitable options.
The list is quite big, bear with me.

Thanks in advance.

Others will comment but the first challenge might be justifying a PG diploma after already having a masters which together with your work experience you could be considered over qualified.

Plus this course shows as just 2 semesters so qualifying for a short PGWP maybe just 1 year reducing the timeline for any potential Canadian work experience . Many students given can only work part time end up doing minimum wage jobs whilst attending college totally unrelated to any previous experience in many instances.

Have you not checked at all whether you gain enough points for an actual immigration program if immigration is your end plan

For social media jobs search indeed.ca to get an idea

Thanks for the response.

The CRS score for my relevant experience is around 392 (for 7.5 IELTS, 2 year work ex, 0 Canadian ex, French language level - min).
Whereas, a friend of mine, who has the above stated experience with 5 years work experience gets a CRS score around 430.

So, I think that gathering Canadian experience as well as certain domain knowledge will give a boost to my CRS score.
Correct me if I am wrong.
