Med's Done....
11-02-2016
Hi,

Need some advice before I send my application (looking to send in the next week!)

UK citizen, currently in Canada on implied status (visitor) awaiting an answer for an extension response. I have been living with my now CL partner for just over 12 months. I'll be applying before I hear back about my extension.

I've been planning on applying Inland to take advantage of the OWP and so I can stay here in Canada and not have to spend time so much time away from my partner.

Am I correct in thinking:

1)If they accept my extension, I should get the OWP in 4/5 months, then wait another 21 or so months for PR. (total 26 months)

2)But if they don't accept it, I'll need to apply to restore my status and if that's accepted I'll be waiting 18 months for the OWP? Then another 7 months for PR (total 26 months)

3) Or should I apply outland, but still stay here either on my extended visitor status, or my restoration status?

What's the chances they'd restore my status as a visitor whilst having an outland app? I'd have so much more evidence to prove financial stability and the support of my partner, her family and mine.

Sorry if this in confusing!

Thanks for the help.

Unless the most important thing is receiving an OWP in ~ 4 months after CIC has received the application, along with an Inland application...definitely apply Outland. Check the Outland UK thread to see how quickly people are getting their PR.

Outland for you will be sooooo much faster and you won't be [in essence] trapped in Canada for 2 -1/2 years.

Thank you.

I knew the facts about Outland but was just trying to convince myself Inland and OWP was the better option... but at this rate I'd have OWP by August (If it went through ok) and if I go Outland I could have PR by early October!

Outland it is!
