Hi all,
I have been accepted for fall intake in Vancouver. I am applying from Delhi, India for my study permit and My query is pertaining to the financial aspect

A) my brother in law ( elder sister's husband) is my sponsor. So along with the affidavit do I need to submit his bank statements ? If yes what should the balance be like and what other documents of his do I need.

B) do I need to get the GIC now ( before applying for study permit ) or when I reach.

A) Just affidavit is not enough, you should also attach his bank statements (showing enough funds to cover your whole tuition, if he is sole sponsor). Make sure you attach enough proof of funds to cover your time in Canada, maybe it is tuition, accommodation or living.
B) GIC you will need to apply now, attach it with study permit application.

Good luck.!
