Hello,

I am a bit confused about the list of items carried / to be followed forms. ie- B4 and B4a forms.

How do i summarize the items on B4 form? Can i just make a simple sheet on excel or is it compulsory to fill the form?

Also, some have suggested to fill the B4a form also so that there can be items brought in during the next arrival anytime in future. I do not understand how this works? PS: I do not have any items that i would be ordering or getting couriered.

Please throw some light on this at the earliest as im flying within a week.

Appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Nick

Yes, you can make a simple sheet on excel and print it out. Then attached to the original B4/B4a form.

Suppose you done the above and give the CBSA officer for stamping at your first landing. Assume you flied with Air France and did not bring all of your personal belongings that are listed in your excel printout/B4a/B4 form due to carryon/baggage limitation. As a result, some belongings are still in home country. Say you want to bring your expensive Gucci bag (which is listed in the stamped B4a) back to Canada after your landing. Suppose you would fly back to your home country, pick up the Gucci bag and return to Canada. At the port of entry, you show the stamped B4a to the CBSA officer and you would not be asked to pay any duties for the Gucci bag (which if you don't have the form, you might be request to pay the duties).

Thanks a lot Steaky. Perfectly explained.
