Hi everyone,

I had a question about updating or changing the address after I submitted the AoR. I was in India when I submitted the application and then moved to the US, so I used the webform to submit an address change for my submitted application. But I never did receive any acknowledgment or confirmation about the address change being confirmed. Is this normal ? What are the consequences of the address change not going through ? I submitted my biometrics at an ASC in the US, if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

If you have submitted a webform about your current location as US, just call IRCC after a week or so and get a confirmation if its changed in your application or not.
Technically, you will get passport submission request as per your "Current Country" option in Express Entry profile.

So it should be changed. IRCC is not confirming details submitted through webform however, within a week or so they will start responding. Better get your current country updated.

Biometrics can be submitted from anywhere in the world.

Do you have the call center information if I wanted to call from the US? I wasn’t able to find a phone number to call.

I changed my address too but it's within the same country. But, never got an acknowledgment for my WebForm. It was not even updated when I saw my GCMS notes. Then, I asked if the address was updated but I got a generic response. Maybe call them. There is only so much we humans can do to deal with these insensitive and incompetent IRCC sloths. Also, updating the address if it's a different country is very important. It will change your visa office when there is a PPR.

if you change the address in same country, then usually, its not required to update IRCC.

It looks like the phone number is not for people outside Canada. The web form doesn’t seem like it would make them reach out to me either. Any other numbers or work arounds to reach the call center?

So I used a Canadian number to call them and it went through. The wait time was about 45 mins before I was able to talk to an agent and confirm that my address change from India to US did go through.
