Hello Folks,

Just need to clear few doubts that I have. This might resonate with few others in similar situation. I am inland FSW AOR Aug 8. CIC sent me a request letter on Nov 24 stating that they need few more documents in 7 days in order to make a final decision. During this time my background went back to not needed from not started and has stayed the same since then. I provided the docs in few days.

Is it true that PPR might be delayed in case of applicants with 'Additional document request". My background check never went "in progress" through out the process. Also, I had submitted the submitted the Canadian Police Clearance upfront.

Thank you friends. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I am in exactly same situation as you..our timelines also match...
I am guessing its holidays plus refugee processing which is causing delay...
Also i have noticed from other applicants that it takes about 30-40 days from additional doc req to get ppr...

I guess we can just wait..
Hoping all goes well in new year...

It doesn't mean you application will be delayed due to Cic requested additional documents. In my case, I have requested additional Docs for 4 times but whole process less than 3 months. I think depending on your files and the officer who make decision.

Wish you get a good news after New Years.:)

There are instances where additional document request might slightly impact your processing time, however, it's not sufficient to allude your current PPR delay to such document request. For instances, a number of applicants with multiple documents' request, received their PPR yesterdays in spite of their additional document requests.

We all need to be a little more patient and be hopeful.

Thanks for your responses guys. Honestly, can't afford to get refused after waiting for this long. Fingers crossed!

What was the additional document u were requested for?

Since its written "they need few more documents in 7 days in order to make a final decision" it means your application is almost processed. Else they do not mention "final decision " in the request letter.

Many have got PPR on the same lines.

Below is the Letter Request I received. It has been almost a month since I uploaded the requested documents.

Dear <Principal Applicant>,
Thank you for your interest in Canada.
We have begun processing your application for permanent residence, and in order to make a decision we require the following information/documents:
 <Principal Applicant>:
> Proof of Relationship: Document proving your relationship with your spouse:
 Engagement photos and/or photos of outings;
 Wedding photographs depicting all the rituals of a traditional wedding, including wedding reception and post wedding photographs;
 If your spouse is living abroad, please provide proof of your or their visits such as airline ticket coupons, used boarding passes, complete photocopy of all pages of your spouse’s passport;
 Evidence of continued contact such as phone bills, letters and e-mails;
 Details of the history of your relationship;
 Any other documents that you feel would demonstrate your relationship to your spouse
This must be received at this office by: 2015/12/02
 <My Wife>:
> Travel History: Please provide proof of travel history since the age of 18. This must be received at this office by: 2015/12/02
Please note that the requested information/documents must be received within 7 days from the date of this correspondence. Please upload these documents to your MyCIC account.
If we do not receive the information/documents within 7 days, your application will be assessed based on the information we have on file, meaning your application could be refused as incomplete.
