Addition of Spouse name on the passport

I have recently applied for my PGWP application and got married 2 months ago. I do not have spouse's name on my passport. I would be making this change to my passport. The question is when should I change my passport particulars:
1) After receiving PPR request for stamping
2) Should I submit the old passport itself for stamping and carry both the passports whenever I shall travel.

Do the changes as soon as you can.
Although you will not need the old one but its no harm to keep the old one handy as well.
