I am an Indian citizen and a skilled worker on a work permit, working in an NOC A job. I recently submitted my PNP paper-based application after getting OINP. My girlfriend from India who already has a Canadian Visitor Visa is planning to come to Canada next year and then we are planning to get married here. I'll then add her to my PNP application but while it is being processed, I'd also like to apply for a SOWP so that she can stay in Canada with me and work if she wants to. A few of questions about this process:-
- Is it risky for her to apply for inland SOWP while on a visitor visa? What are the chances/risks and what things should I be careful about? Since I'm employed, I can support all her expenses in Canada
- After marriage, do I need to inform both OINP and IRCC about change in my marital status or only inform IRCC? Would this pose a risk to my own PNP PR application process?
- After submitting SOWP application, can she stay in Canada as a visitor for longer than 6 months, if SOWP is still being processed? Can she also exit and re-enter using visitor visa while SOWP is being processed?
- Assuming that I add her to my PNP application and also apply for an SOWP, is it safe for her to create an express entry profile or could that impact other things like visitor visa, SOWP or my PNP application?
