Dear All,
I have submitted my application for provincial nominee program from inside Canada as I work their but I have not received the file number yet, I am planning to get married soon in next few months can you please advise on the following questions
1. Is it possible to add spouse to my submitted application and will my application get delayed for that
(I have heard that there has been some change in the immigration process and they do not add spouse in currently submitted application is it true).
2. My future spouse's father has served in air force will it affect the immigration application in any way e.g delaying the application due to background and security check

Thanks,

Captain

Yes Capt. you can add your spouse to your application before your application get completed. infact it is a MUST DO thing, if you do not add or notify cic about your wife before your application gets completed you will not be even able to sponsor her in future and it may also be considered as an misrepresentation (getting approved as a single where actually you where married at that particular time) due to misrepresentation you may lose your status and get banned from entering Canada. So when you get married during your application process inform cic and add your wife to your pr application. it may or may not increase the processing times of your pr application depending on which stage your application is. you can avoid delays by sending maximum information/documents of your wife when you notify cic about your wife (usually delays are related to document request made by CIC.). once you get married send all the documents of your wife e.g. birth certificate, identity and educational documents, marriage certificate, pictures, processing fee, additional cic forms, upfront medical, police certificates, photographs etc.
answer to your 2nd part is that if your future spouse's father has served in air force it has no impact on your application as he is not the main applicant (even if the man applicant or spouse has served airforce/arm forces it is not a negative thing or an alert. Canada do like pre-screened ppls) background and security check are mostly related to criminal activities.

Start gathering all the documents in advance and submit it as soon as you get married...and best wishes for you and your future wife
hope it helps.
