Adding Spouse to my Permanent Resident application

Hi,

I have got my COPR and passport but there is only landing has to be done. But I google and talked to CIC customer service and realized that adding a spouse is compulsory before landing.

So I tried to inform CIC regarding my marriage 2 weeks ago by sending an email to cpc-ctd-ottawa@cic.gc.ca and also by webform. But they have not replied me yet and there is no update to my online CIC account.

I am kinda stranded rightnow because CIC is not replying and I also cannot do landing so not sure what to do next. Is there someone who can assist me further steps? I was just wondering If I can apply for my wife via webform without hearing from CIC

I do needs some suggestions because my PR application is processed and I do not wants to ruin anything now all I need is smooth process by adding a spouse

Thanks for the reply!

Yes I got married a month ago before getting me COPR. I understand that they ask for change is martial status when they ask for passport for a sticker but that time I didn’t knew this is going to be an issue so I said I’m single and I planned to apply for my wife later since she is not planning to move Canada yet.

However when I got to know that this is going to be known as misrepresentation if I go do my flagpole as single so I decided to apply for her before I do flagpole.

I called CIC and they told me to email CPCs-cpd-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca like 10 days ago. But they haven’t replied yet.

So I’m looking for an advices from people here what should I do next because since I’m a newbie in all this.

It will be awesome to hear from you back.

You need to wait for them to get back to you. Send another Webform if you don't hear back after a few weeks.

Instead of submitting another form I have called CIC this morning 3 times. They are saying that office in Ottawa are not going to reply me because they only put sticker on passports. But Ottawa office has put a note on my profile that I will be applying for my spouse and Sydney office will work on it.

The weird thing is if I didn’t have called CIC this morning then I wouldn’t be knowing that now I just have to simply apply for my wife via web form and Sydney office will work on it.

However I have a question from all of you who is reading this. What should I do with the sticker on my passport and with COPR papers? Since they didn’t get back to me and didn’t mentioned anything about my COPR papers and simply ask me to apply for the souse via web form I don’t know what to do with COPR papers.

IRCC will request that you return the COPR and passport so the documents can be reissued.

Sounds good, this means when I will apply for spouse during the process they will ask my passport and COPR back, is that right?

You will have to add the spouse tho there is no other option. Please call CIC to get the forms list. They will email you. I took help from consultant I don't remember what forms I submitted sorry
