Adding spouse to exisitng PR application

Happy New Year everyone...I was looking for advice regarding my case.

My application was found successful and eligible for PR under the CEC category. I have done the medical exams, paid the RPRF and was asked to mail my passport for visa.

I am getting married in May and wanted to have my wife to accompany me in Canada. I would appreciate your advise on this issue. Should I ask CIC for a time-extension in order to get married and add my wife then. Or maybe apply for a spousal sponsorship once I become a PR (although that might take a while for processing, 19 months according to the visa website).

Either come to Canada and land (that is, use your PR visa), then go back and get married. Then return to Canada and sponsor your wife.
Or get married before you come to Canada, in which case you will have to return your passport with the visa, tell the visa office you got married and want to add your wife to your file, and then wait while they process her application.

Do not get married, then land in Canada with the current visa claiming to be single.

If you do this, your wife will be forever excluded from the family class, you will never be able to sponsor her and your PR might be revoked for misrepresentation.

Two options:
- You marry before you land in Canada as PR and immediately after you notify the visa office of this change. Your wife will be added to your application (it will delay the process since she will have to undergo a medical exam and complete a set of forms of her own)
- You land in Canada as PR, then you get married and you sponsor her under the family class.

Depending on her nationality and visa office that will process her spousal sponsorship, the first option might be faster.

HI Guys ,
I had my PR application in process and by mistake i clicked my Spouse as Non Accompanying while Updating IMM 0008 form . I already emailed the Officer working on my file that it was an error but still haven't got any response yet . Can CPP ottawa add my Spouse to my file or should I be applying for him later once I get my PR done .I haven't received any request for my passport too....
