Hello folks,

I have received an invite and already submitted all my document. Now, my martial status would be changing the upcoming month. I have the following question -

1) How I add my dependent? Any specific link on CIC website for forms?
2) Would they re-calculate my points? Mostly likely they would reduce, as such, would they push me back to the pool?
3) PCC - Post submission of my documents, If I go back to my home country for couple of weeks, would I have to re-apply for the PCC?
4) Job Letters - Is it true that I need to have my employment letters from the previous employers as well with in the last 6 months?

Please provide me your insights.

Anybody with answers?

Send a Case Specific Enquiry (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx)

2) Would they re-calculate my points? Mostly likely they would reduce, as such, would they push me back to the pool?
I think they would.

3) PCC - Post submission of my documents, If I go back to my home country for couple of weeks, would I have to re-apply for the PCC?
No only applies to pre-submission

4) Job Letters - Is it true that I need to have my employment letters from the previous employers as well with in the last 6 months?
You need reference letters for every employer stated in your EE profile at time of submission.

Please provide me your insights.

Thank you buddy..But it is unfair for pushing back the application to the pool after adding spouse.

How so? It is calculating your score in the same method as all others who applied with a spouse at the time that they created their profile.

Some would say it is more fair.

I do understand. But situations change between the processing time, dont they? Getting an invite and then if its revoked is much painful.

If you get married AFTER submitting your post ITA application, CIC won't recalculate your points and will add your spouse to the current application.

Are you sure? I have been getting mixed responses..I have called up CIC and the representatives respond saying they do not have sufficient information on this and have to do my own research.

Its been such a confusion.

Yes, I'm sure of this. Any change in family information post e-APR does not lead to recalculation of points.

You send CIC a case-specific inquiry and inform them that your family composition has changed, you have gotten married, and request instruction on how to add your spouse to your application.

2) Would they re-calculate my points? Mostly likely they would reduce, as such, would they push me back to the pool?

No. But CIC provides this information on their website, there is no need to rely on speculation.

Click on the section "Changes to family composition"

3) PCC - Post submission of my documents, If I go back to my home country for couple of weeks, would I have to re-apply for the PCC?

No, not normally. But CIC could request updated documents. If you go back, it's a good opportunity to get an updated PCC.

4) Job Letters - Is it true that I need to have my employment letters from the previous employers as well with in the last 6 months?

You will need job letters/employment documents for every position for which you gained points for your CRS.

If you provide insufficient proof, you would lose the points for that position. If the revised CRS remains above the selection threshold for your draw, it won't matter. If it drops below the selection threshold for your draw, you will become ineligible.

jes_ON -Amazing!!! thanks buddy.

You have been of great help.

How old can the reference letters from previous employers be? Is there a specific validity?

If issued after you've left that organization, reference letters are valid for the entirety of your experience and valid indefinitely.

The letter of employment is independent testimony to your (skilled) work experience. They are supposed to cover the period of work for which you are claiming points. As long as they were written AFTER your last day of employment, they cover the full period, and should be OK. (That is, as long as they include all the required details as well, like position, dates of employment, salary, hours worked per week, and job duties/responsibilities).

If they are written BEFORE the end date, there could be problems.

For example: You worked for company A for 2 years. Your letter of reference was written after one year. CIC will give you credit for one year. You would either need to get a new letter that covers the whole period, or provide sufficient alternative documentation that CIC will give credit for 2 years...

LOL - what Asivad said : )
