Hello.

We would like to add our new born child to the existing application which already left Mississauga to our local office. They said the document should be still be sent to Mississauga.

They asked to resent IMM1344 and IMM5481.

1. On IMM1344, do I need to write "YES" on Have you submitted a previous application in respect which a final decision has not yet been made for the person being sponsored the thir family members?
2. On IMM5481 on 5-B-2, Do I need to write both name of the original applicant from the previous document and the new born child also? or only the child/applicant name?
3. What should I write on the explanation letter?
3. Any other tips for this process?

Thank you!!

Are you a Canadian citizen or PR?

Im just puzzled, you are the sponsored, so your wife is the canadian citizen or PR she is the sponsor?

Imm1344 YES
Imm5481 why are you answering 5-b2? Did you have a previous undertaking or did you sponsor someone else before and a decision is not yet finalized?

Or if you are talking about your husband and newborn, i believe you should be answering 5A only..current undertaking..you will add the new child plus your husband and if any other children counted in box3 of imm0008.

Unless of course you sponsored someone before like parents, etc.

Sponsor (wife) is a citizen living outside of Canada, im the sponsored.
I belive your child is a Canadian citizen.. you don't need to do anything, your wife can apply for proof of citizenship at the Canadian embassy. I did this for my daughter and got the proof of citizenship in less than 2 months and now getting her Canadian passport.
All you need is birth certificate of the child , your wife's citizenship card and passport and a form to fill in..

Again, my wife is a citizen (because of her parents) who lives outside of Canada. The child can't get citizenship by birth.
She's sponsoring me.
The application was already in Mississauga and left to our local office.
Meanwhile a new child is born and we want to add him to the existing application.

Does it counts as a "previous application"?
What do I need to fill on IMM5481 5-B-2?

Yes, it does. You aren't submitting a new application, simply adding to the original existing one. YOU are the principal applicant and your newborn is a dependent being added to YOUR application.

What should I fill in both of the documents?
