Hi all,
I have applied under Ontario-PNP and now my file is finalized and the immigrant visa is on my passport. However, we got into a special case:
We are expecting a baby in May and the physician informed us you are not safe to fly back to Canada (we are at the moment outside of Canada).
As a result we sent an email to the CPD-Ottawa (CIC) and asked what options do we have. Here is the reponse:
If you choose to have your baby outside of Canada, we will have to cancel your Immigrant visas and re-open the file and add the child to your application. Please advise us if that is your intention.
In order to add your child to your application, we will require the following items:
· Processing fee for your child (if accompanying you to Canada)
· Copy of your child’s birth certificate
· Copy of your child’s valid passport
· Four (4) recent photographs of your child according to specifications
· Updated IMM 0008 Generic Application Form for Canada for yourself and updated IMM 5406 Additional Family Information form for yourself and your spouse
Copies of the original documents are required. If these documents are not in English or French, they must be accompanied with original certified translations in English or French. All documents must be sent by email, mail or fax according to the address and number below. Do not submit originals unless otherwise stated as documents submitted will not be returned.
Your child must undergo a medical examination by an authorized CIC panel physician. We will send you the appropriate form upon receipt of the documents listed above. Be aware that non-accompanying dependants must undergo medical examinations. The exception to this requirement is children in the sole custody of another person. A child in the custody of another person, who was not examined, cannot later be sponsored as a member of the family class.[/size]
Here is my questions:
1- Do I have any other option?
- such as delivering the baby outside Canada, get a TRV for her and then land with my spouse and then sponsor here from within Canada?
or?
2- If the file is re-opened, would CIC examine it from the beginning against the current roles and immigration laws? or CIC would just add the baby to the file, and would possibly require us for another medical exam? (we did the medical in Oct 2013). I am asking since my PNP certificate expired in 2014 and I do not like to go for another PNP application from the very beginning or being asked to provide documents against new immigration laws.
3- We have valid work and study permits, are they still valid or by stamping the immigrant visa they are all void?
Our CPR and Immigrant Visa expires in late August
I really appreciate for your help
Best,
Sani
