Hi,

My wife is a UK national who just got approved and received her IMM5688 in the post.

It doesn't list any dependants as with my Canadian Citizenship both our children hold dual nationality and passports, the UK and Canada.

I was just worried where it said, "If anything is missing let us know", so I didn't know if I should ask someone at the embassy.

Also, she has an expiry date a year post medical, which of course happened like 9 months before the approval, so it leaves us little time to sort things out.

I was planning on a trip back for a week to activate her visa and have her PR Card sent to my sisters address, and then we'd return to the UK to finish all the other bits and pieces we need to emigrate.

Has anyone else been in this position? i.e. receiving your approval with a very short expiry date and needed more time to arrange the move?

Thanks!

I think that the COPR is probably correct, as there are no immigrating dependents.
Short expiry times are not unusual and the best option is a "soft landing", just to get it done.

OK thanks, Zardoz, that was my assumption as well.

The only concern my wife had about a "Soft Landing" was being questioned by immigration as to our new address, etc.

I would imagine they don't haul the applicant alone into a room and that the discussion is done with all of us there, as she gets very nervous and anxious travelling.

I am guessing it's fairly normal for people to say that they are staying with relatives initially until they get settled.

Am I correct that the PR Card is send to the first address you provide and then do you need it the next time to fly in?

Cheers,

They are relatively used to the idea of soft landings.

Yes, the PR card is sent to the address you provide and you do need to use it the next time you enter Canada unless you are American.

The COPR is correct. Canadian dependents are not listed.
