Hi,

I want to apply for immigration to canada as a skilled worker from Saudi. I am single and want to take my parents with me as they are dependant on me and cannot live alone in my home country. My elder brother has already a citizenship of canada but cannot sponsor my parents because of income requirement.

Is it possible for me to apply with my parents?

Kind Regards

hi outstandingguy

Unfortunately, it's not possible to bring your parents with you using the FSW route.

You try to get immigrated to Canada first. After you settle here you can try for sponsoring your parents which may take 4 to 6 years to get them to PR. Meanwhile, you can bring them on TRV, which should be extended upon its expiry every time, subject to the existing rules.

1. Parents are not your family member. Family members include your wife, children( real, spouse's child, adopted child etc.). You can not add your parents in FSW file.

2. You must go there on PR and sponsor your parents on later stage. After going there, you work there for 12 month and show your income of 12 month to Visa Embassy to sponsor your parents. It takes another 1 years to process the file. Overall time will be 3 years approximately after getting your PR.

3. Ask your brother to sponsor your parents, because he is already Citizen of Canada. Ask him to hire a good lawyer who can understand the matter and do the process smoothly. He need to show about 20000$ income for last year, Any Citizen of Canada can show this much income. Please discuss with your brother.

4. After getting PR, you can bring your parents on Visitor Visa. It may be 6 months Visa, It can be expendable time to time.

if on PR how much money(income) make one eligible to sponsor your parent

I am not sure, but I can judge on based I read once in sponsor ship guideline of Family class visa.

In simple, If you earn 3000$/month = 36000$/year, you can sponsor 1 person, may be your mother or father or brother/sister less than 18 years

If you earn 4000$/month = 48000$/year, you can sponsor 2 person, your parents - father/mother...

The more you earn, the more people you can sponsor.

You can adopt your brother/sister's child to sponsor them.

hi visaexpert, Thanks for your contribution. Can u plz elaborate and mention official source of the following statement.

"You can adopt your brother/sister's child to sponsor them."

My brother is a PR of Canada since 2008 and has got a very good job plus huge financial assets.
If God forbid my immigration application fails due to any reason can he sponsor my under 18 son.?

Thanks

Any one can adopt any child in this world.

You people need to do affidavit in court.

You need to meet a lawyer in your country to know more about this matter.
