So my husband being excited to get his passport back with the visa opened the envelope quickly and tore about an inch wide and half way down the COPR paper........ Is this going to be an issue? Should I email the embassy for new copies?

Don't worry. He'll be fine. If need be, CBSA can reprint it.

When we immigrated, there was an elderly couple who forgot to bring CoPR with them on the flight. Airlines scared them and gave a really hard time saying "We are not responsible if they send you back".

When we landed at Pearson, CBSA just took their passport and just issued another CoPR for them on the spot. And this was in the days when it wasn't a simple computer printout like it is nowadays, but on green and brown paper where office keeps green copy and PR gets brown copy.

So don't worry and relax. Maybe, call/email them and let them know that this thing has happened. Attach pic of CoPR if you are emailing so they know. This step is just so that you can feel safe about the issue.

U are right

Thanks! Our embassy rarely answers the phone, so we emailed them with photos. My husband is just going to show up at the embassy in hopes someone will print it out there for him. I wish they would just do it while he is there so he can get it and leave, but it is never that easy here aha! Your comments reassured me though!
