Hi, I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a US citizen and we are applying for family sponsorship to have her move to Canada. She does not have a passport, only an Enhanced Driver License, which she uses to cross back and forth.

We recently received a notice that we need to submit the Passport/Travel Document, however we already provided a copy of her Enhanced Driver License with the application. Is that not acceptable? Does she need to get an actual passport? Are there any other travel documents she can obtain in the US that would be acceptable? Something that doesn't take as long as a passport application does.

It's not acceptable. She needs a valid passport.

No - there are no alternative travel documents she can obtain. The passport is mandatory to complete the process.

Thank you for the straight answer!

Why couldn't the IRCC do the same? I asked the same question and they replied with a templates about checking spam.
