Hi There, so I have been to canada for quite awhile.
having been living in a english country for 10 years, i don't seem to have lose my accent fully yet.
I mean I can speak clearly, and communicate with people with no problems
but this accent problem just bugs me. Although there are all those flowery emphaize on canada's multi-culturalism and accent is not important.
I feel like in reality, if you want to get into the mainstream of canada, accent can still be a barrier.
As a psych major i understand its very hard to get rid of accent when you approach adolescence/adulthood, but there are some saying that you can LEARN another accent , but not to get rid of our local accent.

But anyways, I am just here to ask have anyone experience the same thing? and if any of you have gone to accent reduction lessions is there any one or material you can recommend?
