I am Canadian citizen and about to sponsor my wife. We live in USA and not in her native country.
1. My wife was divorced 2 times – one time overseas and second time in USA. We have original of her second USA divorce certificate - no problem with that, but for the first overseas divorce we only have an old Certified Translation (2002) of her Divorce Certificate. The original in native language is missing and she is in USA now and not in her country of birth where the first marriage and divorce occurred. What do we do?
2. The second question is about death certificate of her fist son (he passed away overseas long time ago). Here in USA we only have a photocopy of his death certificate in native language. We could do, I assume, certified translation of a photocopy of death certificate, but cannot provide original or certification that this photocopy is a true copy of original. What do we do?
3. Can we skip first divorce altogether and omit this tragic event with her son? Just want to avoid misrepresentation…
