Hi there,

After months of gathering, organizing and filling out forms my wife and I are ready to begin the sponsorship process. I just have a few questions about submitting that I would like to get cleared up before we begin.

- When uploading documents are you able to upload folders or just files? We have everything organized in folders and I would obviously like to make it as neat and easy to read as possible.

- During the sponsorship process we decided that I would stay in Canada. I would like to be able to visit my family back in the US from time to time. But my constant worry is that I will not be allowed back in because I have been staying in Canada for extended periods of time over the past year. I know it's up to the border agent to allow me entry or not so there is no guarantees but is there anything I can do to improve my chances of being allowed back into Canada?

Thanks as always for your help!

not sure what you mean by uploading. the application is sent by mail, it is not submitted online. how the application is organized doesn't matter. what matters is that it is complete, so it must contain the checklist, sponsor forms, applicant forms and proof of relationship.

I really hope you are preparing for an OUTLAND (outside canada) application. While it is up to the border agent how long you can stay in canada each time you cross, it is far easier to cross when you have a PR application in the system. as long as you are prepared to prove your ties to the US and you have applied for PR, you most likely will not run into issues at the border. that being said, there's always that agent that likes to give people difficult times. just remember to use the right language (ie: "visiting" rather than "moving" or "living"), only answer what is asked, and be prepared to show your documents if need be.

I was under the impression that you can submit your application online?

Yes we are applying Outland.

Absolutely not. Both sponsor and applicant forms must be printed out with original signatures, all your relationship proofs and evidence gathered, and all mailed together in a big envelope to CPC-Mississauga.
