My DD for $1500 is valid for 3 months only but i think due to rush in applications i will not get AOR in 90 days.

So what should i do should i arrange a new DD or they will give me a chance to pay the fees with another DD after AOR?

What should i do please help seniors

Unfortunately, if your DD expires before they could encash it, the application will be returned. Which country did you take your DD from?

I am not sure about SBI, but in ICICI you can give a request to extend the validity of the FC Bank Draft. Would suggest you to talk to SBI branch which issued you the draft, they may advise you.

The DD is valid for 6 months not 3.
Check with SBI

i already checkd and they said before it was 6 now its 3 months

My bank too said the same thing but there was an Indian applicant who got AOR on his 5th month - his DD was cashed in the 5th month. Mine was cashed after 3 months as well. The cumulative intelligence on the forum also suggests this.

Check on the DD

It's valid for 180 days for all banks

Yes Raj,

It is 180 days

This is what SBI website says about drafts, hope it clarifies.

Bankers cheques and drafts are valid for 3 and 6 months respectively and can be revalidated by issuing branches on written request of the purchasers. The drafts can be revalidated by the payee(s) if they are identified as the holder in due course. The drafts can be revalidated only once within one year from the date of issue. After one year of the draft, they are to be cancelled at the issuing branch, and a fresh draft obtained after paying the requisite service charges.

Raj,

Need a clarification.

I made the DD for CAD 1500 11 Feb 2016

My account got debited for CAD 1500 on 13 Feb 2016

I send my application packet to Ontario on 13 Feb 2016 evening

Checked with the bank today. They informed it's normal that the amount gets debited from the account

even before the beneficiary Minister of Finance submits in Ontario.

Yes, money from your account is deducted immediately and set aside for the beneficiary to
encash.
So don't worry about it. They will encash the amout at the time of AOR.

Cheers
