Hi,

I am an international graduate student whose study permit expires on November 30th 2019.

On October 25th I applied for a renewal till the end of the term - by which time I will have defended my thesis and submitted an final version to the graduate school of my university.

My question is, considering the processing time - 75 days currently - will the CIC issue the new study permit
assuming they start processing my application in December/January based on my extrapolation?

Assuming they don't because it is past my extended term, what steps would I need to take to apply for PGWP with a new permit?

Thanks.

your question does not make any sense.

the processing time starts from the time they received the application. if you did so online it at most a few days. and assuming your biometrics is still valid which should be.

thus if approved you should get the permit roughly mid jan. however - why did you apply to renew so late...?

Well, I wanted to get a tentative defense date so I can apply to cover that period.
