about processing times on off campus work permit...

i have already sent required documents for off campus work permit through "MyCIC" on May,12/2011, and still havent got the permit.(seems like already past more than a month...)

but i checked out the processing times and it's already on May 26,2011.
does anyone know normally how may days it takes to receive the work permit from CIC, will they mail the work permit to my place?

yes yes they will mail it to you, thats what they did when I got my permit, the demand for those permits are really high, so sometimes it takes about 2 months..i got it after 1 month and 7 days..

You can apply for an off-campus work permit after you have studied in Canada for six months..Another thing is that they check your transcrip to make sure that you have maintained an satisfactory GPA(marks), if they are below the college standards than you cannot apply...Once you have a good GPA and you have spent 6 months in Canada, you can apply for an off campus work permit..

It is impossible to do a part time job without an off campus work permit, It is illegal as well because you cannot get your SIN card which you can only obtain after getting your off campus work permit...But the story doesnt end here, If you go below your minimum GPA than you Must! surrender your off campus work permit to the nearest CIC office...
