Today my application was returned. I have daughter in law. She is the daughter of my husband. And his ex wife is taking custody. We don't take her to Canada. But they are requesting my daughter in law's birth cirtificate and pictures. Is it supposed to be? I was wondering something mistake.

If she is the daughter of your husband - then from an immigration perspective she is your daughter as well. Yes - you must provide your daugher's birth certificate and pictures.

You are using the term "daughter in law" incorrectly. If you had a son and he got married, his wife would be your daugher in law.
