Hi,

I graduated from Centennial college in Ontario and started working as a restaurant manager for now about 1 year. I am thinking of applying for PR sometimes in next year, but my crs points seem to be insufficient, then I heard, If I and my girl friend(Canadian citizen) become common law, I will get crs15 points.

I have some questions and am really hoping that these can be answered.
ps: I have been living with her for 1 year.

What I do not have
Lease contract we signed together
Joint bank account and credit card.

What I do have
utility bill and internet bill solely paid by me not my girl friend
driver license that has our home address on.
We have been dating for 4 years, so I have a plenty of proof for our genuine relationship.

Please, let me know if I am qualified.
if not, what should I do to become qualified!!?

Thank you

You heard wrong. A Canadian partner gives you zero points.

If you are common-law, she can sponsor you for PR.

What canuck_in_uk said. You don't get points for having a Canadian partner.

you would get points for Canadian sibling. Maybe even for her sibling would count. However at this point spousal sponsorship is a much easier way for you to go.

Also - you already are common-law. You can't choose to not be common-law (short of not living together any more). In any application that you make, don't make the mistake of stating that you are single.

You cannot get points for a Canadian partner's siblings.

I was not sure here. But then again spousal sponsorship in this case is much better way.
